Customer Skills for Library Staff - Learn How to Enhance Interactions
with Your Patrons

Information seekers interact daily with library staff to meet their
information needs. Do you have the necessary customer skills it takes to
engage in successful interactions with your patrons?

This course helps reference staff identify necessary skill sets needed
for any reference interaction whether it is face to face, virtual, or on
the telephone. Additionally, you will learn to recognize common barriers
to productive reference interactions, develop techniques to overcome
them, and discover how to display exemplary service to anyone visiting
your library, whether it be face-to face or virtually.

This online class meets on June 8, 15, & 22; from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
CDT each day. Visit the Amigos website for the complete description and
online registration.

strengths and weaknesses of popular search engines such as Wolfram

HTML 5: Will It Be Worth It?

Join Christine Peterson, Amigos Continuing Education Librarian, in this

W3C recommendation until 2012, major commercial websites are already
using pieces of HTML 5 and major browsers are beginning to support the
new version. Come learn how you and your library can begin to take
advantage of what HTML 5 has to offer. This session is scheduled for
June 6, 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. CDT. Registration and details are available on
the Amigos website.

Know & Go sessions are only $25 for Amigos members and are free to
